Haris Koutsopoulos
Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Haris N. Koutsopoulos is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, and research affiliate with the Transit Research Program at MIT. Prof. Koutsopoulos has held prior faculty appointments at MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, and most recently at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. His research focuses on urban transportation networks and informatics, including study of urban mobility and linking ubiquitous sensor data related to multi-modal transportation systems with network science to enable transportation analysis and planning. He has published extensively in these areas and has received a number of awards, including the IBM Smarter Planet Award.
